Their robots showcase significant advancements in dexterity, mobility, and adaptability, paving the way for a new era of domestic, and manufacturing automation.

Let's walk through what these advancements mean:

‣ Better precision and coordination by making improvements in their sensors, enabling them to navigate obstacles with agility and precision. Their movements are getting closer to humanlike, allowing them to open doors, carry objects, and even manipulate delicate items like eggs without breaking them. This enhanced dexterity opens up a myriad of possibilities for domestic, and manufacturing applications, particularly those that are unsafe, repetitive, or boring for us.

‣ Flexibility to perform different jobs by designing their systems for adaptability, allowing them to learn and adjust to new tasks and environments. This ability has immense potential for revolutionizing home assistance. The robots can seamlessly transition between various tasks, from cleaning and tidying up to assisting with childcare duties. Their ability to learn and adapt will enable them to anticipate household needs and suggest solutions, further enhancing its usefulness and efficiency.

We can look at the future of domestic and manufacturing automation as leveraging technology to enhance our lives and empower us to focus on higher-order activities rather than replacing us. How AI impacts the balance of power between the haves and have-nots

Sometimes, trying to understand how AI changes your life—for better or for worse—can feel like listening to a foreign language you have never heard of. Your brain works harder to pick up any meaning without success. But there is a better way.

One way to understand how transformative innovations are is by analyzing how they change the balance of power between those who have wealth or resources, and those who do not.

Let's break down the balance of power into 3 categories, and define what each means:

1. Benefits the wealthy: Favors those with financial means who might get access to new opportunities or resources before others do, increasing their advantage. This is also known as make the rich richer.

2. Benefits everyone: Favors everyone, it's like a rising tide that lifts all boats. Everyone, regardless of their starting point, has the chance to benefit from this change.

3. Benefits the less fortunate: Helps to reduce gaps between different groups of people by helping those who have fewer resources or opportunities. By doing so, it creates a more level playing field for everyone involved.

Now let's explore how AI changes the balance of power in the previous 3 categories.

Benefits the wealthy:

• Big corporations and well stablished organizations have the resources to create AI technologies capable of disrupting entire industries.
• Companies that can afford to have AI at the core of their business models will benefit by maximizing profits, reducing production costs, optimizing processes, and making employees more productive.
• Optimizing processes will increasingly become the first step of automating entire jobs, leading to significant layoffs. In such scenarios, governments, and private organizations should collaborate to offer employees the tools, and knowledge to a smooth transition with enough anticipation.
• A collaborative strategy should consider potential levels of automation on technology being created by organizations working on bleeding edge AI.

Benefits everyone:

• Makes you perform your job more efficient, by taking away repetitive, tedious, and non creative tasks.
• AI makes education more affordable, personalized, and effective.
• It accelerates drug development for healthcare firms with less resources while increasing precision, making medicine more accessible for everyone.

Benefits the less fortunate:

• Those with limited resources could face the most challenges benefitting from AI technologies. Having access to electricity, a computer or a smartphone, and an internet connection, are the first 3 of them.
• Advanced AI chat-based technologies like large language models (LLMs) require significant resources from computers, but progress is being made to make them work on low-end devices, and even without an internet connection.
• Unfortunately, market forces may not initially help the most vulnerable people. In fact, they might even widen existing social disparities if left unchecked. That's why it's essential for governments and private organizations to collaborate in implementing AI democratization processes from the get-go, ensuring that advanced AI systems don't increase inequality.

How can you get ready?

You should be proactive, seeking relevant knowledge, anticipating possible changes, and disruptions, using these AI technologies to augment your capacities, and improve your life. Avoid being a passive observer waiting for a transition guidebook from governments and employers.

By having this proactive attitude, you will learn how to use AI to perform your job more efficient, faster, and with greater quality developing a deep competitive advantage over those who don't use AI. Businesses, and organizations will prefer to work with you over the rest.
